Your Credit Report Card.. Should You Pay?

Being someone who is trying to clean up some credit report errors, I am annoyed at the fact that Congress amended the The Fair Credit Reporting Act {FCRA) to allow consumers to get a free annual copy of their credit report, but still allows the Credit Reporting Agencies to charge you for the most important thing... your credit score... your grade.

The only time you EVER have to pay for YOUR INFORMATION is when dealing with the Credit Reporting Agencies.

This cost should be shouldered by those who depend on this information from a marketer or vendor point of view. They have much more to gain from the information, monetarily, than I.

And this is my personal information... why do I not have at least "Read Only" access.

Any comments?

You can get a free credit score online. Granted, you have to jump through the skanky process of signing up for the monthly free trial of credit reporting, but if you are diligent and make yourself a note and actually cancel your trial before 30 days is up, it's OK.
